A process whose value at time t can be determined based on the information available up to that time.

Formally, $\{X_t{\}}_{t\ge 0}$ is adapted to the filtration $\{{\mathcal{F}}_t{\}}_{t\ge 0}$ if $X_t$ is ${\mathcal{F}}_t$-measurable.
